Stories from Immerse: Kaylie Arsenault

Kaylie Arsenault joined the Immerse program in September 2020 and it quickly became apparent that she had an aptitude for scholarly work coupled with an intense desire to share the love of Jesus. Dr. Archie Spencer, Kaylie’s academic mentor, was so impressed with her work he encouraged her to go on to do a PhD!

Kaylie worked on her Immerse studies and applied herself in the practical implementation of what she was learning while employed at Village Church in a capacity of roles, including the start-up of a prison ministry at the Surrey Correctional facility and discipleship ministry at the Village Church Surrey campus. In all aspects of her role at Village Church, Kaylie’s leadership competencies and her love for sharing Jesus continued to grow.

immerse and YOUR church!

Garry Firth, Lead Pastor at The Meeting Place in Nanaimo, BC, knows firsthand the value of Immerse. He graduated from the Immerse program with his MDiv five years ago and now is eagerly anticipating the 2023 graduation of his own Immerse student, Peter Bird. The Meeting Place is a church that champions the development of leaders through actively identifying the next-gen leaders in their context and practicing the art of asking a very good question:

“Would you consider Immerse as the next step in your ministry leadership development?”

A Partnership Called Immerse

This is an exciting year for Immerse! Fifteen new students, representing thirteen of our churches, are currently embarking on their Immerse journey. The partnership of our churches and seminary in this initiative continues to be the main catalyst for leader development in our Fellowship. Over the past year, the Joint Immerse Management Team (JIM Team), consisting of members of Northwest Seminary & College and Fellowship Pacific Ministry Centre staff, have been collaborating to develop a new avenue for Immerse students. As of this fall, together, we have launched a 2-year Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership track within Immerse.

Immerse Graduation & Cornerstone

IMMERSE GRADUATION & CORNERSTONE

If I needed to find one word to describe the past six weeks it would need to be something like the word “grateful.” Yes I know, that sounds like a bit of a cliché since we just celebrated Thanksgiving but truly, “grateful” is the only thing that I can come up with at the moment. I want you to know that in this context, it reaches beyond our cultural calendar.
