Impact 2019 Speaker - Dr. Larry Perkins

Larry has recently completed a commentary (unpublished) on 1 Peter, and will be talking about the primary teaching of the book as it relates to our individual commitment to Christ.

Larry graduated from the University of Toronto Ph.D. program in Septuagint Studies (1980) and has an M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of British Columbia. He has published over twenty articles related to Gospel of Mark, Leadership, Governance, and Septuagint. At Northwest Baptist Seminary, he is concluding forty-five years of teaching, and oversees Northwest’s Korean language degree programs. A member of the network of scholars that produced A New English Translation of the Septuagint, he translated the book of Exodus.

Recent publications include The Pastoral Letters. Handbook on the Greek Text. (Waco, TX.: Baylor University Press, 2017) and The Art of Kubernēsis (1 Corinthians 12:28): Leading as the Church Board Chairperson Eugene, OR.: Wipf & Stock, 2019).

He is married to Judy and they have four children and twelve grandchildren. He and his wife are partners at SouthRidge Fellowship Baptist Church.
