Introducing Dan Cody - Church Management Solutions Team Lead

This week we welcome Dan Cody to our staff here at the Ministry Centre. Dan brings the right combination of skills and expertise needed to lead our Church Management Solutions team and we couldn’t be happier to have him join us.

Dan and his wife Leanne met at youth group back in the 70’s at Blue Mountain Baptist Church in Coquitlam. They settled in Maple Ridge and brought up four kids, Nolan (27), Brennan (25), Dawson (23), and their youngest, Chelan (21) who works part-time at Maple Ridge Baptist. Leanne is a registered nurse at Ridge-Meadows Hospital.

Dan served as the Youth Pastor at MRBC for many years and, most recently, served as Interim Lead Pastor. He also worked as the assistant to the Federal Fisheries Minister for eight years, advising on Pacific Region fisheries matters. In this role, he travelled into communities all across our Province and worked with a wide-range of interest groups.

Dan completed his B.R.E. at NBTC and his Master of Ministry at Northwest Graduate School in Seattle (now called Bakke Graduate University).

Now that we’ve covered the formalities, let us share some fun facts about Dan.

· He and David Horita were once classmates at Northwest Graduate School in Seattle. In fact, they drove down to classes together in Dan’s orange VW Bug.

· Dan says “sdrawkcab klat nac I.”  See if you can figure that one out!

· Bruce Christensen has known Dan for many years and says his keen mind and fabulous sense of humour are the perfect mix for working at the Ministry Centre.

· He enjoys cycling and has already inquired as to where he can store his bike when he rides to the office.  He is also an avid reader, local theatre buff and partakes in useless trivia games.

In his new role, Dan’s relational skills and varied experience will enable him to assist and advise our churches in the areas of finance and administration, capital campaigns, church operations and other areas. He will also serve as a valuable mentor for some of our Immerse students. Please join us in welcoming Dan and pray for him and his family as he settles into his new role.  You can contact him via e-mail at dan@febpacific.ca or by pushing extension 8 when calling into the Ministry Centre.
